Michael Dean Hopwood

Funeral services for Michael Dean Hopwood, age 53, of Brazoria/Sweeny area will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, Brazoria with Dr. Debbie Measells officiating. Interment will be held at Brazoria Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church before services.

Mike was born in Washington, MO on August 20, 1961. He was the fifth child of Virginia and Herbert Hopwood. At age 15, he moved to Texas to live with Bill and Cynthia. He spent the rest of his life in Brazoria and Sweeny area. Mike will be deeply missed by all his friends, family and especially his loving dog, Essy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Hopwood; and niece, Elizabeth Hopwood.

He is survived by sister, Linda Wright (Frank), of Owensville, MO; brothers, Bill Hopwood (Cynthia), Raymond Hopwood (Lauren), both of Brazoria; nephews, Ron, John, Ben (Melissa), D K, Wayne, Daniel and Andrew; nieces, Michelle, Melissa and Melynda; best friend, Essy; and numerous family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Kay, Gary Hickman, Emory McCrorey, Jaybo Jowell, Mark Maroul, and Steve Yaklin.
