Gerald Wayne Lands passed away September 5, 2014.


Gerald was born January 23, 1949 in Houston TX to Laura Ada Lanford Lands and Jack Ferguson Lands. After the death of his mother, Gerald was raised by his material grandparents, Jessie and Tom Lanford. Gerald attended school in Rockdale TX, graduating in 1967. He attended Texas State Technical Institute then started work for Dow Chemical. He married Frannie Hurst in1970, they moved to Lake Jackson where they have made their home for the last fourty four years.

Gerald was a Believer in Christ and lived his days through grace.

Gerald retired from Dow and was presently working for Marathon.

Gerald is survived by wife Frannie Lands, daughter Nicole Lands Meador, son in law Lee Meador and grand son Colby Meador, sisters Nancy Clark and her husband Ken, Joyce Roberts and brother Jack Lands. He is survived by sister in laws, Laura Boston and Bonnie Symank and her husband Denny Symank. Gerald loved and was loved by many nieces, nephews,cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents and grand parents.


Services will be held Saturday September 13, 2014 at 10:00 am in the First Baptist Church West Columbia, 226 S. Broad St. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Kenyan Children's Education Fund through the First Baptist Church, PO Box 326, West Columbia, TX 77486.
