Jim played football for the Freeport Exporters on the A-squad his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years, when they took the state championship . He worked for AT&T installing telephones and met his wife of 60 years, Marjorie J. Fipps when installing a telephone in her parent's home. He was a true Dallas Cowboy fan and often incorporated their logo into anything he was involved in. Jim's greatest accomplishment was his family, he was proud of his 4 children and delighted to watch his family grow with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
