Funeral services for Alan Riley Brock, age 48, of Surfside Beach, Texas will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at Lakewood Funeral Home, 98 N Dixie Dr, Lake Jackson, TX 77566. Visitation will be held at 1 pm. Alan passed away at his residence on Dec. 6, 2014

Alan was born in Lufkin, Texas on January 31, 1966. He attended Huntington schools and graduated from Diesel Mechanic Technical School in Humble, Texas. He spent most of his life in the Huntington and Lufkin areas. Alan was employed by Southern Chrysler Dodge in Lufkin for 20+ years where he made many friends in the community. He moved to Surfside Beach in 2009. Alan was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger and will be missed by many friends and acquaintances. He loved to fish, read and visit with his friends.

Alan is survived by numerous relatives including a brother, Milton Brock and wife Brenda of Trinity, sister, Jennie Brock Green-Prats and husband Stuart Prats of Surfside Beach, and sister D'wana Guidry and husband Howard of Lufkin as well as 3 aunts, Evelyn Clegg of Zavalla, Barbara Durham of Waco and Marguerite Brock of Lufkin and 1 uncle, Ertis Ashford Brock and wife Judy of Conroe. Alan is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Jason Green, Matthew Green, Veronica Grauke, Micah Brock, Sarah Brock, Amity Brock, Jordan Brock, Davey Thomas and Davina Thomas Hendrix and many, many cousins and friends.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Ertis Robertus Brock and Ginger Clegg Brock, his grandparents Ertis Wayne Brock and Anna Griffin Brock and James Milton Clegg and Myrtie Riley Clegg plus several aunts and uncles.
