Lora Belle Hays

Lora Belle Hays, long-time resident of Oyster Creek, Texas, left this world peacefully at home on February 4th, with family at her side. Lora "Doodle" was born December 18th, 1923 in Louise, Texas to C.J. and Christina Gless. She was married November 27th, 1943 to the late Bruce C. Hays. Lora was a charter member of Oyster Creek First United Methodist Church. She was known well for her skill at dominoes and numerous card games with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing.
Lora is survived by one sister, Frances Green, son, J.T. Hays and wife Nancy Jo, daughters, Lora Wolfe and husband Douglas, Peggy Sims and husband Raymond, Elaine Knopp and husband Leo, daughter-in-law Betty Hays, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, four great-great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb.7th with visitation Friday, Feb. 6th from 6-8pm
