Dolores Adelle Somer
9/4/1933 - 3/5/2015

Dolores Adelle Kanter Somer, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Altus Hospice in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 4, 1933. She was also lovingly called  Aunt Dea and  Nana . Dolores was a devoted Catholic and prayed her rosary daily. She always finished with,  Amen and amen! Dolores practiced this for years with her mother, Juliette  Nana David Kanter. She is also preceded in death by her father, Frederick William Kanter Sr., her sister, Betty Jean Kanter Cayer, and her beloved God daughter, Glenda Carol Breazeale.

She is survived by her son, Paul David Somer, who has supported her at her side. Her grandson, Sean Paul Somer, and his wife, Shauna, and her great grandsons, Kaiden Wayne Somer and Kenton Paul Somer. She is also survived by her only brother Frederick William Kanter Jr. and his wife, Nancy. She is also loved by her nieces, Karen Kanter Romero and Terry, Cindy Kanter Kolander and John, Heather Kanter Luera and Frank, Holly Kanter Smith and Corey, and Tiffany Eller and Mike and their families.

Aunt Dea attended St. Mary s Catholic Church while living in Freeport and St. Joseph s while living in Brazoria. Her faith brought her great comfort and joy, and she enjoyed sharing it with her family. Dolores was also a wonderful cook. You never left her home without dainty Dolores insisting you eat.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on March 8, 2015 at St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Brazoria from 5:00-6:00. A rosary will follow at 6:00-7:00. The Mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. also at St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Brazoria, TX. Dolores will be laid to rest at Restwood in Lake Jackson, TX next to her dear parents.
