Clyde Neal "Jelly" Williams Clyde Neal "Jelly" Williams passed away on May 29th, 2015. Jelly was born on March 16, 1930 in Matador, Texas to Buford and Velma Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Pete.
Jelly served as a policeman in Lubbock, Texas from 1954 to 1963 and in Freeport, Texas from 1964 until retiring in 1991. He proudly filled the roles of Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and retired as the first Major for the Freeport Police Department. Jelly was affectionately known by the youth in Freeport as "Sergeant Williams", the man in the white hat that delivered them to their parents when they "needed to be taken home".
Jelly is survived by his wife of 51 years , Cathy Bolding Williams, daughters, Sue Wright and husband Mike, Karen Kincheloe, Viki Willard and husband Jimmy, Carla Gore and husband Raymond, Pam Frederick and husband Wade, son Chris Kincheloe and wife Suzanne, brother Bobby Williams and wife Jeanne, sister-in-law Bess Williams, "Jelly's angel" Susan Rodgers, and beloved dachshund "Daisy". Jelly and Cathy have 13 grandchildren and many precious great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Cory Willard, Clinton Willard, Kevin McCullough, Cody Kincheloe, Raymond Gore, Jr., Brian Gore and Mason Frederick. Serving as honorary pallbearers are friends, Harry Park, Sheriff Charles Wagner, Lon Siddall, O.C. Farmer and Dusty Martin.
The family will welcome friends at Lakewood Funeral Home on Monday, June 1st from 5 to 7. Services will be at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2:30 p.m. The graveside service will immediately follow at Restwood Memorial Park with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department Honor Guard in attendance.
