Pansy Mae King

Pansy Mae King,88, of Angleton went to be with the Lord June 24, 2015. She was born May 10, 1927 in Mc Millian, Oklahoma. She was an avid volunteer, drove the school bus for A.I.S.D. , drove the medicine transport van for the county, as well as the first driver of the courtesy van for the American Red Cross in Brazoria County for thirteen years, and was a lead volunteer at the Dream Center in Clute. Pansy has been a charter member of Minitex Baptist church and the First Baptist Church of Rosenberg. She was an active member at Brazosport Baptist Temple.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Clara Cornelison, her first husband, Allen "Bud" Smith, and her second husband Tommy King, and her daughter, Markaleta Smith Kilgore.
Pansy is survived by 4 children: Patricia Smith and husband Ray of Pittsburg, Texas, Frank Smith of Trinity, Texas; Robin Smith and wife Barbara of Franklin, Texas, Althea Smith Boyd of Bryan, Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 sisters Gene Raley and Marie Stowers.
The family will receive friends noon until 2pm Sunday at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following: Brazoria County Dream Center; 796 South Hwy 288 Business; Clute, Texas 77531 and Brazosport Baptist Temple; 1203 County Road 205; Angleton, Texas 77515.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her as a devoted mother and grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams. "For I know that my Redeemer lives and at the last He will stand upon the earth and after my skin has been thus destroyed yet in my flesh I shall see God." Job 19:25
