David Lee Rich
8/1/1948 - 12/27/2015

David Lee Rich, born August 1, 1948, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 27, 2015, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

David was the son of Leon J. and Leona Rich of Battle Creek, Michigan, where he spent most of his life. He was a graduate of Springfield High School, and worked for Battle Creek Township and the City of Battle Creek for 41 years. David was a testament to hard work and perseverance, starting work as a water meter reader in 1966 and retiring in 2008 as Water Superintendent for the City of Battle Creek. He relocated to Lake Jackson, Texas, in 2011 to be closer to his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons, and to escape the Michigan winters. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, Clute, and the American Waterworks Association.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary J. (Baker) Rich, his daughter, Terrie Fontenot, son-in-law, Noson Fontenot II, and precious grandsons Andrew Fontenot and Peter Fontenot, all of Lake Jackson, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 31st, 11:00 am at Grace Bible Church, Clute. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Altus Foundation to help others receive the compassionate hospice care that he did.

Final arrangements by the Turner Family at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel, (979) 297-6464. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.lakewoodfuneralchapel.com.
