John was born in Dewey, Oklahoma, on June 12, 1928. While growing up in Bluejacket, Oklahoma, he met the love of his life, Alice Ermajean Hollandsworth. During their 64 years of marriage they were blessed with seven children and an ever growing family.
Before residing in Texas, John served in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, he was stationed at both Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley, Kansas. After two tours in Korea, and 20 years in the service, he retired from the Army in 1967. John spent his years in Texas working for the Coca-cola Company and later for Amstate Self Storage. Although John had a strong work ethic, his two passions were his love for God and his love for his family. He served as deacon for the First Baptist Church, "The Anchor" in Surfside, Texas for over 30 years. He was a true man of God and instilled in others that same love for the Lord and the importance of faith and family. One of his greatest joys was singing alongside and listening to his children sing their praises.
"Grandpa"
Grandpa was a busy man, always going and going, running errands for Grandma and picking up us kids here or taking us there. Yet, he always had time to stop for a hug or kiss. He would make us giggle when we would look over and see him taking one of his five minute naps, only to have him wake up and smile when he realized he had passed out. He made sure our lives were full of faith, music, love… and food, as most of those errands for Grandma were to the store. He may have left us, but we know he is with Grandma. Hopefully she doesn't already have him running around. It's been a long time coming, but that doesn't make it easier. We love and miss you, Always.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Bluejacket; his mother and father, Hazel Holden Bluejacket and Jonathan Henry Bluejacket; his brothers, Donald Bluejacket, and Terrill Bluejacket; his great-granddaughter, Terah Lasagna; his son-in-law, Peter Di'Prima; his son-in-law, Phil Patterson; and his brother-in-law, Junior Chamberlain.

He was a simple man, humble in nature, giving of heart, knew no stranger, sweet in spirit. I remember my days at Coca Cola when he just "punched off the clock" at the end of the day on Friday, the way he" strutted" to the parking lot with that smile on his face, probably wondering what was on the supper table from his wife of 60 plus years. Well John, keep" strutting" and go find out, I'm sure suppers waiting. Tell Alice" hi" and keep a place at the table for us. We'll see you again on the other side, buddy.

Sep 1979 I was 19, looking for a job, I stop by coca cola and the first person I saw was Mr. Blue Jacket, he ask me, may I help you, and I say... looking for a job, he respond, when would you like to start.... I say the sooner the better and he said how about right now? and I said sure.... he give me a chance to learn and move on in the co. I worked there 25 years, I move up to a few positions from the warehouse to the cooler installer job, I learned so much from him , he was always abailable to help and teach, RIP.
